Wood selection:

In fact, red oak is not really red, the sapwood of red oak is white to light brown, and the heartwood is pinkish brown. The vast majority of red oaks are straight-grained, and the texture is more obvious. Because of its color, white oak is more suitable for stained woodwork or furniture

The color and appearance of white oak is similar to that of European oak, the sapwood is light in color, the heartwood is light brown to dark brown, white oak appears more in the form of straight grain, the grain is medium to rough, and the pith ray is obviously longer than that of red oak. As a result, the wood grain of white oak is much more obvious than that of red oak. Because the color of white oak is relatively pure, white oak can be used to process log color or make various stained wood products and furniture.
