SHEETS, CUT BLANKS OR MATCHED KITS
Choose what your workshop receives
Full sheets for your own machining
Choose thickness, format and face pair around the panel schedule. The specification above lists eight thicknesses and five sheet formats. Include grain direction and appearance matching where adjoining pieces will remain visible.
Prepared parts for your assembly
Send outside dimensions, openings and machining details with the required quantities. Identify left and right parts, the reference face and any finish or edge treatment you want completed before dispatch.
For waterproof boat panels and wet-area joinery, plan the phenolic marine bond together with protection of the completed part's faces, cut edges and penetrations. Tell us the service conditions and finishing process so the supplied panels fit your workshop's next operation.
The marine plywood category compares the wider range; the 12mm and 18mm marine plywood pages focus on those thicknesses. Keep all-Okoume construction named when requesting this product.
HULL PANELS · CABIN JOINERY · ACCESS COVERS
Plan the panel around the part you are making
Hulls and shaped boat panels
Bring the designer's thickness, panel shape, grain direction and joining details. We help prepare the selected construction and a forming or sheathing sample around the process your workshop will use.
Bulkheads and partitions
Show openings, fitting positions and local reinforcement, together with the component's structural or interior role. These details guide the full-sheet or machined-part quotation and the retained material around each opening.
Cabin doors and locker fronts
Coordinate the visible face, reverse finish and hinge or latch detail. For neighbouring clear-finished pieces, assess the grain and colour range together; include finish and hardware in the door's weight target.
Removable covers and access panels
Show the seating ledge, seal, closures and maintenance access. Identify any walking or equipment duty with the component design, then plan the machined edges and protective finish around the receiving frame.
VENEER LAYUP AND VISIBLE FACES
Match the construction and finish to your panel schedule
Construction through the thickness
Use the thickness and ply schedule with the veneer arrangement, bond and dimensional limits. Mark the reference face and sheet axes before cutting; rotating a part through 90 degrees changes its grain direction in the assembly.
Appearance after finishing
Choose both faces around the intended clear finish, paint or sheathing. A representative sample can show the colour range, grain and permitted face details beside the cut edges and joints your workshop will expose.
Keep the selected construction and face reference with the cutting list. For a routed pocket, scarf or other exposed section, include the machining detail so the sample shows the material at that operation.
ONE KIT · TWO HANDED PARTS
Keep the left and right components together
The paired layout below uses 900 × 450mm rectangular panels, each with a 200 × 120mm opening. Both show the designated reference face up. The opening centres are 300mm and 600mm from the left edge respectively, and 225mm from the bottom edge.
Use these same-scale plans to follow the part identification, net area and kit quantities. Your production drawing supplies the thickness, actual opening geometry, reinforcement and support details.
Identify the reference face and opening position. Keep the part code, grain direction and drawing revision with the component through coating and packing.Pack the matching handed components. Both parts have the same net area and edge length. Keep the intended face, finish and hardware recess on the correct side of each part.
Mark the show face, bottom edge and handed part code before machining. Order complete L/R sets so the workshop receives the right pieces together, with any face or finish differences recorded in the part schedule.
PANEL WEIGHT AND THE FINISHED COMPONENT
Plan the weight of the part you will install
The declared all-Okoume density range is 500–550kg/m³; the sheet and container schedule uses 540kg/m³. The component calculation below starts at 500kg/m³ and then compares the range. Keep the density basis with each estimate and use a measured sample for a tight finished-weight target.
Sample mass per square metre = measured mass ÷ measured area
At 500kg/m³, a 500 × 500 × 9mm panel area has a calculated bare mass of 1.125kg, or 4.5kg/m². Record the actual sample's dimensions, mass and condition with its construction reference.
Each drawn component retains 0.900 × 0.450 − 0.200 × 0.120 = 0.381m². At 4.5kg/m², its bare panel mass is 1.7145kg. The uncut rectangle weighs 1.8225kg, so the opening removes 0.108kg on this calculation basis.

Add the retained finish, edge treatment and hardware
The finished-part calculation uses 0.35kg/m² on each broad face, 0.02kg per metre of edge, and 0.180kg of hardware. The two net faces total 0.762m², adding 0.2667kg. Outer and opening edges total 3.34m, adding 0.0668kg. These inputs add 0.5135kg per component.
Use the retained mass of your actual cured finish, edge treatment, fittings, seals and reinforcement. Keep each addition separate from the coating consumed during application and count it once in the completed part.
For a 2.200kg completed-part target, the 500kg/m³ calculation reaches 2.228kg, about 0.028kg above the target. Compare finish, fitting or geometry choices with the component design, then weigh the completed trial. Send the drawing and target to our factory team for help planning the panel and processing options.
FACES, EDGES AND OPENINGS
Carry the protective finish around the whole component
The 200 × 120mm opening adds 0.64m of internal edge. Plan its preparation and protection while it remains accessible, before a fitting or adjacent part covers it.

Twelve pairs contain 24 components, giving 19.00944m² across these calculated surfaces. Add holes, recesses, corner radii, fillets, tapes, overlaps and attachments from the actual detail. Use the coating manufacturer's application information to turn the surface schedule into material quantities.
Protect every machined surface
Include broad faces, perimeter, openings, fastener holes and recesses in the finishing sequence. Re-treat fresh surfaces created by later trimming or drilling before the component enters service.
Choose a compatible finish system
Plan preparation, barrier coat and final finish together for the part's exposure, sunlight and maintenance access. Trial the chosen products with their curing and overcoating requirements; include the actual adhesive interface where the part is bonded.
MACHINING, CONNECTIONS AND FORMING
Try the operation your workshop will repeat
Machined edges and profiles
Use the intended tooling, workholding and support. Review face breakout, exposed veneers and retained material around the opening, bevel, scarf or routed recess, keeping the reference face and machining stage identified.
Fittings and connections
Show the hole, recess, backing and local support with the actual fitting. Include exposed-wood protection, installation access and the connection performance required by the component design and hardware system.
Forming the selected thickness
For a curved part, send the target shape, grain direction, mould or supports and joining method. Trial the selected thickness and layup through the intended process, checking face condition, separation, springback and the finished assembly.
Handling between operations
Support sheets and cut parts to protect their shape and prepared faces. Keep them in the condition required for bonding or finishing, place marks away from visible surfaces and review any handling damage before the next operation. Identify retained trial pieces so the workshop can compare the agreed material and process.
COMPLETE KITS AND SHEET YIELD
Compare sheet formats around the complete L/R set
The cutting table compares three of the five supply formats: 1220 × 2440mm, 1220 × 2500mm and 1500 × 3000mm. The full format schedule is above. Choose the format with the thickness, grain direction, quantity and supplied stage for your order.
Read the worked detail and calculations
For this layout, the 900 × 450mm blank has its 900mm dimension along the sheet length, with 10mm trimmed from each sheet edge and a 3mm kerf between parts. These inputs include no extra component oversize allowance. Produce one L and one R for every kit, maintaining the reference face.

3 sheets / 13.5000m²
On the 1500 × 3000mm sheet, three 450mm widths and two kerfs require 1356mm; three 900mm lengths and two kerfs require 2706mm. Allocate four L and four R blanks per sheet: three sheets supply 12 pairs, with one spare blank position on each sheet.
The required 24 rectangles occupy 9.720m² before openings, or 9.144m² afterwards. Keep recovered centres and spare blank capacity separate from the required kit count. If another component can use them, add its drawing and machining allowances to the cutting list.
Plan the final nesting with face selection, workholding, corner geometry and permitted rotation. For the same 12 kits, the table uses six small sheets or three large sheets: the sheet-only break-even point is a large-sheet cost twice the small-sheet cost. Compare complete quotations with machining, sample reserve, finish, packing and delivery included.
