What is a density board?

The Medium Density  Fiberboard  (MDF), known as density fiberboard, is a sheet made of wood fiber or other plant fibers, prepared by fiber, applied to a synthetic resin and pressurized under heating and pressurizing conditions.

National Standard (GB/T 11718-2009)  is divided into: ordinary medium density fiberboard, furniture type medium density fiberboard and heavy-duty medium density board fiberboard.  Density board because of uniform structure, fine material, stable performance, impact-resistant, easy to process, in the domestic furniture, decoration, musical instruments and packaging face application is more extensive.

The advantages of density boards

1, Density board is easy to paint processing. A variety of coatings, paint categories can be evenly coated on the density board, is the paint effect of the first choice of substrate.

2, A variety of wood, printing paper,PVC,plywood film, melamine impregnated paper and light metal sheet and other materials can be on the surface of the density plate finish.

3, Hard density plate punched, drilled, can also be made into sound-absorbing plate, applied to the decoration of the building.

4, The physical performance is very good, the material is uniform, there is no dehydration problem.

The disadvantages of density boards

First, density plate is certain to contain formaldehyde.

Second, the density board’s grip nail force is not normal difference, compared with solid planks and particleboards, far from.  Third, density board is not waterproof, especially vulnerable to moisture.
